FYI, Balancing Act for Moms LLC is in the process of adding new services, in particular, leadership and career coaching for women inside organizations. Many programs are available, depending on the client, the most pressing needs, the objectives, and the preferred service delivery options (e.g., individual or group coaching, leadership skills training modules, or organizational consulting on broader leadership/talent management initiatives). Stay tuned and/or call Kim at 612-759-5627 to get started! Add Comment I highly recommend the book, "Working Identity" by Herminia Ibarra (Harvard Business School Press, 2003). The author's research reveals that people make successful career transitions by trying out new activities related to their field(s) of interest, developing new relationships with other professionals in those fields, and making sense of their experiences to determine the level of fit for them. People are encouraged to repeat this process in other career areas of interest until they find a direction that meets their needs and leaves them feeling energized and fulfilled. Whether you hire a career counselor or go it alone, the key is to act early and often to discover your next career, rather than spending too much time assessing your interests, skills, and values in isolation.
